Focus Home Interactive and Tindalos Interactive officially announce the development of the sequel to Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, the frantic RTS set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and puts you in the midst of huge, epic space battles, who doesn’t want that?
The sequel is said to expand on the ‘groundwork’ that was laid out by the first game, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 will be, as Focus put it, ‘a full-blown sequel’ that’s ‘bigger, richer, more impressive and more ambitious than the original game.’
Knowing nothing about Warhammer I have it on good authority that confirmed to include at launch will be all 12 (As many as 12 really?) factions from the original Warhammer 40k tabletop game as well as the expansion ‘Armada’ on which the game is based, we’re informed this means you’ll get the Imperial Navy, Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus, Necrons, Chaos, Aeldari Corsairs, Aeldari Craftworld, Drukhari, the T’au Merchant and Protector Fleets, Orks, and finally, the Tyranids.
Several, extensive campaigns will be playable all set against the backdrop of the Gathering Storm and the 13th Black Crusade which will mean something to Warhammer fans I’m sure. With bigger battles, refined gameplay, improved multiplayer modes and features for a better and more balanced online experience, improvements have been made across the board and there is also confirmed to be much more customisation options for your fleets and individual ships. Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 promises to be the ultimate Warhammer 40,000 space battle experience… so that’s cool right?
The game is planned for release on PC sometime in 2018 and will be first presented (to the press) during Focus’s yearly event in Paris on February 7-8, a public look at the game will follow.
And now, what you really wanted, the reveal trailer, which is actually freaking epic.
