PoweredOn’s ‘TOP TEN’ this week comes off the back of the eagerly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War trailer which was announced earlier this week. So we take a look at PoweredOn’s Top Ten Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies (MCU).
PoweredOn’s top ten Marvel Cinematic Universe movies so far:
10. Thor: Ragnarok (2017) 7.0/10
Imprisoned, the almighty Thor finds himself with a fresh haircut in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization. Featuring lots more comedy to the point of ‘where is this going?’ and more lines from a Hulk who seems to be hitting puberty within a very teenage script.
9. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – 7.0/10
When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner sod everyone off and kick-start a peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and they have to ‘assemble’ again to save a miserable looking town in the middle of nowhere.
8. Doctor Strange (2016) – 7.5/10
While on a journey of physical and spiritual healing following a car accident whilst texting emoji’s on his phone. An arrogantly brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into a world of mystical arts and ‘inception’ type weirdness. He also develops a questionable American accent.
7. Spider-Man Homecoming (2017) – 7.5/10
That awkward lifestyle when balancing teenager life in NYC and being an arachnid-based superhero collides and you must stop a menacing antagonist who is annoyed at S.H.I.E.L.D for putting his ‘baes’ out of work.
6. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 (2017) – 8/10
Should’ve been called ‘Everyone loves Baby Groot’, but it also featured the backstory to Peter Quill’s parentage. Not as good as the first but still had the charm and amazing soundtrack continued from the first.
5. Captain America: Winter Soldier (2014) – 8/10
As Steve Rogers struggles to adjust to life with a smartphone, youtube and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. He teams up with other SHIELD agents to take down a new threat from history known as The Winter Soldier.
4. Ironman (2008) – 8/10
After an arrogant, billionaire engineer gets captured and sent to an Afghan cave in Hollywood, he befriends a fellow genius who saves his life and gives him the power and weapons to become Ironman and destroy anyone who steps in his way.
3. Captain America: Civil War (2016) – 8.5/10
The Avengers turn to political disputes between their superhero family which causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man. Iron Man introduces the help of his teenage interest. Captain America befriends a black feline.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) – 8.5/10
A group of intergalactic criminals are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe. Criminals include a giant tree, a talking racoon that sounds a lot like Bradley Cooper and a green chick who could kick your head in.
1. The Avengers (2012) – 9/10
Earth’s mightiest heroes and that guy with the bow and arrow must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity, that old chestnut.
