Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite Battle Royale servers will be going offline today to make way for the new update.
The development team say that servers will be going offline at around 9am GMT, to make for the new content on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
“There will be downtime. Fortnite Battle Royale matchmaking will be disabled 15 minutes before downtime begins as we prepare for the patch deployment, Players will be logged out of all Epic services prior to the deployment will be able to to log back into the Launcher, Website, and Forums after a few minutes. The V.1.9.1 client update will be for all players on all platforms.”
Official Fortnite Patch notes can be found below:
- Fans will have access to a new non-lethal weapon – the Smoke Grenade.
- Like other grenades featured in-game, the Smoke variant is thrown like a frag but obscures vision with a white smoke, and can be found in all container types, as well as spawn randomly as floor loot.
- Other big changes will be made to the Battle Royale leaderboards, which will now include two different score ranks.
