The critically acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn is a vast, rich open world RPG which a lot of fans saw as an infinite resource for future content.
Alas, Sony and Guerilla Games have other ideas; November will see the release of The Frozen Wilds, but this DLC expansion won’t be followed by any additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn.
At least that’s the case according to the Guerrilla Games Twitter account, which had the following to say about future DLC: “The Frozen Wilds will be the only expansion for Horizon Zero Dawn.”
The news has made gamer’s turn to hopes of a full sequel to keep the Horizon universe going.
The Frozen Wilds will be released on November 7th at £15.99. PS Plus subscribers can pre-order the game for £14.39.
The Frozen Wilds contains a new story and a new area to explore.
“Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes,” reads the official description.
“But now this frozen wilderness harbours a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.
“The Frozen Wilds contains additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn, including new storylines, characters and experiences in a beautiful but unforgiving new area.”
